About us

Wild wondering Beach and Forest School aims to help young people fall in love with nature, a happy place they can return to again and again.

Whether they’re exploring the shoreline, investigating rock pools, hunting for minibeasts, or cooking over a campfire, nature becomes their classroom and every day is a new

adventure. Here, learning happens by doing: building

shelters, tying knots, whittling sticks, and following their curiosity.

Participants are free to explore, play, build, create, imagine, and use all their senses to soak up the natural world around them. It’s not just fun — it’s powerful. These wild

experiences help grow confidence, friendships, resilience, and a lasting connection to the natural world.

Hi, I’m Amber – the founder of Wild Wondering.

I'm a qualified secondary school teacher with a background in sociology, but over the years I’ve taught across all sorts of subjects including, history, geography, English, RE and design technology.

Before launching Wild Wondering, I worked in a pupil     referral unit in Leeds as both a behaviour support worker and safeguarding lead. Right now, I work full-time in     outdoor education, supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

I'm a qualified Forest and Beach School Leader, and Wild Wondering brings together two of my greatest passions: helping young people thrive and using the power of nature to support their growth, confidence, and well-being.

Over the years, I’ve had the joy of working with a range of Forest School projects, including a lottery-funded        outdoor learning initiative, and volunteering in Montessori, Steiner, and Froebel schools. I’ve also assisted in a Forest School holiday programme over a three year period.

I hold a full enhanced DBS, a Level 3 Forest School First Aid qualification, and a food hygiene certificate – so your young people are in safe, experienced hands!

I can’t wait to welcome you and your wild wonderer's into the woods or onto the beach soon 🌿🐚
